Alimena
is a town of about 3,500 inhabitants, located in the Palermo province
at 740m asl in proximity to the Balza dell’Edera. The earliest
records concerning Alimena go back to the 16th century referring
to the first settlement grown in the area.
The
town was officially founded in 1628 thanks to Antonio Alimena who
gives it its name.
